Welcome to “The Other”

To make the relationship between the world of the seen and the world of the unseen — you have just read — is to suggest two worlds. In the preceding words, in any person, how many worlds exist in the mind, for and of the soul of mankind?

“The Other” is beyond, before, of the source of light — “who” before “I.” Close or open your eyes and dream: What light is there? What words, worlds, call us, appear—what words, worlds do we choose, do we hear? What world, with our heart and hands, can we imagine, do we make, give? When are we "The Other"?

The artists selected for this show, have produced work combining the visual and textual—the tangible image with the mental image, the concrete and the word, words—offering us with the open doors of the seen and the said, two ways into the spirit, this joy of life, our gift of expressing to each other, to "The Other".
